An enchanting journey in the Tuscan countryside until the leaning tower city
This special itinerary, which connects Lucca to Pisa through the Tuscany countryside (and has been the witness of many consumed battles in defence of both territories), starts from Lucca’s centre and twists alongside River Serchio. Along the trip it will be possible to discover myths, tales and rivalry which have always divided the two cities. After cycling beside quiet country sideways, we will arrive to Piazza dei Miracoli, in Pisa.
The name of the square (square of the miracles) it’s bond to the Italian writer Gabriele D’Annunzio at the beginning of the XX century, when, once arrived in the city, he described the monuments (Baptistery, Cathedral, Bell Tower and Cemetery) as a true architectonic and cultural miracle for what they represented.
After spending some free time admiring and discovering the richness of Piazza dei Miracoli, we close our journey by cycling back to Lucca or comfortably by taking the train.
